The EU is supporting SMEs through 100+ projects in the Eastern Partnership region

Project Objectives: improved agricultural competitiveness; enhanced economic opportunities, employment and services to the population; improved exports; enhanced consumer protection through increased quality and coverage of inspections and controls and effective enforcement of approximated legislation.

The project supports Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises while addressing the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It offers advisory services through COVID-19 Business Clinics and grants to aid SME recovery.

Within the project, the implementing European food safety institutions work closely with Georgian colleagues for legal approximation. They also align national rules and procedures with EU standards and build capacities in food safety, veterinary, phytosanitary, and SPS border control.

Lake Sevan, the largest freshwater lake in the Caucasus Region, serves as a crucial source of water, irrigation, aquaculture, and hydropower in Armenia, directly impacting both environmental health and economic prospects. With backing from the EU Water Initiative (EUWI) Plus, Armenia is crafting its initial River Basin Management Plan for Lake Sevan to enhance long-term water resource management. EU4SEVAN will leverage ongoing efforts and initiatives to bolster environmental safeguards for Lake Sevan, aligning with broader objectives.

The EU for IMPACT Armenia project seeks to enhance the welfare of Armenian labor migrants, returnees, and their families by mobilizing remittances for local development and fostering job creation in Armenia.

The 4-year Project aims to bolster the digital economy and regional competitiveness in Cahul by fostering innovation partnerships, promoting STEM education, and supporting startup growth.

The project tackles the technical obstacles hindering Ukraine's economic progress and prosperity.

The "EU4Business: Connecting Companies" project seeks to boost trade between EU Member States and the six Eastern Partner countries, prioritizing five sectors with high potential for SME export expansion: Organic Food, Creative Industries, Textiles, Tourism, and Wine-making.
